St. Joseph, Sugar Grove

2014

St Joseph is one of those very special places for church architects. Its history as a parish dates back to the mid-nineteenth century and many of the family names from the first registry are still family names in the parish today. It is a small wood-framed, single towered, 300-seat country Gothic church in a quiet hamlet southeast of Columbus and Lancaster.

Our designs here were for the Sanctuary alone as a first phase to beautify and enhance the architecture and liturgy in this humble edifice. With a budget only in five figures, we were pleased with the outcome. May the enhancements here continue to inspire the parish so that the entire Nave can follow suit.
